#BEYOND THE AUTISM | FROM WORRY, GUILT & PRESSURE TO UNDERSTANDING & ACCEPTANCE 🤍

After receiving a diagnosis for their child, parents may find themselves facing not only questions about their child’s journey, but also a wide range of emotions of their own.
💭 Worry: “What will happen to my child?”
💭 Guilt: “Did I do something wrong?”
💭 Pressure: “What should I do right now? What is truly best for my child?”
When these emotions come alongside countless decisions that need to be made, parents can easily feel overwhelmed, uncertain, and unsure where to begin.
But experiencing these emotions does not mean that parents are not doing enough.
Sometimes, the first step toward being there for your child is allowing yourself to recognize and understand what you are going through. 🌱
At BEYOND THE AUTISM – WORKSHOP #02, VICA will join parents and professionals in exploring:
🌱 Common emotional responses parents may experience after their child receives a diagnosis.
🌱 Why feelings of worry, guilt, and pressure may arise.
🌱 How to recognize and manage these emotions in healthy and appropriate ways.
🌱 How to gradually move from worry and pressure toward greater understanding and acceptance.
Because the journey after a diagnosis is not only about finding ways to support your child. It is also a journey for parents to better understand themselves, so they can feel more grounded and confident as they walk alongside their child.
